You, who have trusted the Self to keep faith.

fish swim through muscles

forked tails disappear

from my pores

into flesh.

roe and sharp scales

thrash upstream

what happens

when they reach

the heart?

If it were me, I would notice a new level of awareness. That prior to this event I was not really as awake as I thought. Knowing how much opportunity I would miss out on if I did not prepare my state of mind to be be geared and tuned for high performance learning.

Thank You for the wise words today. Cause this post really spoke to me

An interesting perspective... seeing things from the waters point of view. You give us an insight of what this perspective might be.

I was fine until that question at the end and now I am left pondering the 'when'
Does it have to be? But maybe it is a good thing.
So I can say 'thought provoking write, you'

I don't know....it's hard to decide on a place that's both aesthetically pleasing to the eye and can be hidden if i wanted it to be.
but i really like this poem. and I think its better to get beautiful words tattooed on you than a star. or a pony.

I like this work. Fish swiming up stream and where they go when they hit the heart. So many comparisons to draw.

Best regards,

Lovely. Yes, what happens when
they reach the heart?

it depends on what family they are of. Although penetrating through skin from water pretty much speaks of one family.

I guess the answer is they begin to mature. Where they go to settle as adults depends on the species.

This particular family though has members that live for a long time. Their activity is pretty much limited to one thing once they mature.

I wish I knew what happens when they reach the heart and whether that struggle swimming upstream was worth it. Great poem.
